Get started
Open Tintwork in your Shopify admin and create a customizer (or start from the windbreaker demo). Choose the product, add a part for each piece of your product, and upload its layer image. Click Publish, then Add the block to your product page: your theme editor opens with the Tintwork block ready. Click Save.
Preparing your layers
Export every layer from the same canvas size so they line up, and leave everything outside the part transparent. Parts shoppers can recolor work best as white or light gray with the shading kept. If you upload a photo or colored art, Tintwork offers to remove a flat background and convert it to a white shading base.
Letting shoppers use their own photo or logo
For a whole panel, edit the part and turn on Fill it with their own image. For a logo in a set spot, add a logo zone and draw its box. Shoppers can drag, zoom and rotate their image in a close-up editor.
Where the preview shows
In the theme editor, open the Tintwork block and choose Where the preview shows: next to the options, replacing your product photos, or above them. If your theme's gallery isn't found automatically, email us and we'll find the right setting.
Where do I find a shopper's choices?
Open the order in Shopify admin. Every choice is listed on the line item, with links to the shopper's uploaded files and a preview image of their design. The files are in Content → Files in your Shopify admin.
Changing the wording or language
Shopper-facing text follows your store's language. To change any wording, go to Online Store → Themes → Edit theme content and search for Tintwork.
